The Beatles: Rock Band arrives on September 9th. This is a hugely expensive license but I don't know how well it will sell, given the demographics of video game players. It might expand the market, but by how much? Will it be worth the license? Or are games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero better suited to newer rock bands like Metallica?

This is a big win for Harmonix, but I think the real test will lie in how well they market this information to the mainstream. I don't know how many hardcore gamers idolize the Beatles... those songs appeal more to the casual gamer.
