These are the last matches of the 2002 Mediocre Minds Superhero Showdown! To those who voted, thank you. We appreciate your effort, following, and patronage of our website. Mediocre Minds will strive to bring you many more interesting articles and features in the future and we hope you are part of that future with us. Who knows? There might even be another tournament like this soon... and you can be sure that the superheroes will all return in 2003 for another showdown. Check back in about 10 days for the crowning ceremonies. ;-)

Thoughts on the Last Batch:

Well, howdy. I'm sure you are all interested in the third-place matchup results so I'll get right to those. #4 Wolverine upset #3 Spider-Man 16-12 to get the bronze-medal. [Sumir imagines Wolverine being awarded a bronze medal and gulps.] #6 Psylocke annihilated #3 Catwoman and #8 Sara Pezzini 18-4-5 to claim a decisive third-place finish in the Female Bracket.

Wolverine beating Spidey isn't that big of a surprise but Psylocke soundly beat two well-established heroines, which was somewhat of a shock to me. But, hey, I like Betsy so I'm not complaining. :-) Either way, good showings by everyone in the last batch of matches. Maybe next year will be their time.
