Rogue discovered her mutant powers when she kissed a boy, nearly killing him. Mystique found her and raised her as her own daughter. The two would be very important members of the terrorist faction, the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. During an ambush, Rogue absorbed all of Ms. Marvel's memories by accident, permanently assimilating Carol Duner's psyche into her own. She turned to Professor X for help in getting rid of Carol's memories. The X-Men were opposed to the idea of having Rogue join them, but Xavier insisted that this was the only way. After getting cured, a confused Rogue joined Magneto in the Savage Land for a short time, but returned to the X-Men.

Aphrodite IX (so-called because there were eight other versions before her) is an android assassin for hire in the futuristic series of the same name. Very little is known of her past, in part due to her only shortcoming - every time she kills someone, she loses her memory. With the help of a mysterious friend, Aphrodite records a message to herself. As she soon discovers, the real reason she was created is much more of a mystery than anyone had imagined.
