Captain Cervantes

Yaaarrhhh, landlubbers!

We return aga'n this year fer Talk Like A Pirate Day 2007! An' this be Cap'n Binkley's birthday as well, so we'll surely celebrate our good fortune with some rum!

So while ye plunder booty, engage in the sweet trade, and quaff some Cap'n Morgan's, throw a glass back to celebrate the fact that Mediocre Minds be the first hit if ye search for "Captain Cervantes" on Google. AARRRHH, that be some fine privateering, if I do say so meself!

Next year's goal: to get the first hit for "Miguel de Cervantes"?

While ye wait for our next content update, why not go pirate yer favorite copyrighted work? No, we don't really suggest ye do that, but ye could... if you knew where to find a Pirate Bay or something. It wouldn't be right, but ye could just for this one day, and then go buy the copyrighted work the next day. Just thinkin' out loud, ye see, laddy (or poppet, as the case may be). Just thinkin' out loud.

Oog! and Cervantes 08

We've seen all manner of politicians engaging in rhetoric about how they will change this country for the better. We've seen major news networks talk about presidential "dream teams". Let me tell you something: they'd need a Jordan-Bird dream team of politicians to successfully fix our problems. Luckily, we have just such a team here at Mediocre Minds: Oog! the homicidal 80s metal loving monkey and the dread pirate Captain Cervantes.

Oog! and Cervantes, who haven't decided which one will be the President and which will be the Vice President, have laid out their major policies for us:

At long last my tale of drinking, piracy, and assorted dickery can finally be told! Ok, so I only did two out of those those things but I still had a blast at my birthday celebration. What can be more entertaining than getting a bunch of your friends together, eating dinner while watching a cheesy show, all while consuming alcoholic beverages? I think the answer is obvious: making everything pirate themed!

I've been debating whether to attempt a review of the Pirates Dinner Adventure dinner show in Buena Park, CA. After thinking about it, I realized there's no way I could be impartial if I wrote a review so I've decided to mainly babble a bit about what I enjoyed, what I disliked, and what could use some work.

ARRRRGH! Happy Talk Like a Pirate Day! (And Happy Birthday to me! YARRGH!)

Pirates Dinner Adventure Logo

Ahoy mediocre pirates! This be Cap'n Binkley here to remind ye that Sumir and I still be drawing breath. Those that be reading the forums know the Indian scalawag recently sailed up north to plunder the Bay Area. As such, he's been busy ravishing and pillaging.

As for your faithful Cap'n, I've got me a couple of articles walking the plank and once I find me some time ye can be assured of my tales being inscribed on this site.

In honor of me birthday I be setting course for the Pirate's Dinner Adventure in Anaheim/Buena Park. Ye can bet that tales of my grand adventure will be one of the articles coming soon. For the others, expect some more Mediocre Cuisine! YARRGH!
